Walgreens Trip 7/31/11

Today's shopping trip consisted of 3 separate transactions to insure less money spent out of pocket.
The First and Second Transactions I bought 1- 8 Count Package of Crayola Washable Markers. $2.00. Total came to $2.14 each. I then got back 2 RR's (Register Rewards) for each transaction so 4 RR's total.
The Third Transaction I purchased 2- 12 Packs of Kleenex Conttonelle Toilet Paper. $5.00 each. I also got 4 Laffy Taffy's which are .10 each (One is missing Brianna ate it) for fillers to make sure the register wouldn't beep.
I used (1) .75 off Manufacturer coupon for the Cottonelle. Then used (2) 1.00 off coupons found in the Walgreens Coupon Booklet. I also applied my 4 RR's and my total came to $4.38. Today only there was an RR printing out for 3.50 for buying 2 Cottonelle.
So altogether I spent $4.66 and I still have 3.50 RR's.
I don't shop at Walgreens a whole lot, but today I was pretty pleased with my experience.
I saved $11.73 today.

Procrastination...

First off, I'd like to start this post off by saying, I've been putting this off for a few days now. (Ha ha ha!) Seriously though, what causes procrastination? Why do we procrastinate? Does procrastination cause us to fail? Or do we achieve what we are going for by procrastinating?
When I was in college, we had to write a paper, and I chose to do mine on Procrastination. I even procrastinated writing that. Yep hard to believe right? LOL. Actually every single paper I wrote I procrastinated on, and I mean bad. Some I'd write the night before they were due, others I waited until the day they were due and wrote. I spent many nights staying up all night just to get them done. And with each assignment I would tell myself, "Okay Im not going to wait until the last minute to get this done". And well, that never happened once. I would get so mad at myself and did not understand why I would torture myself and stress out when I could have started the paper the day it was assigned. Well I only failed one paper I wrote. That was the first paper I ever had assigned. It was so poorly written. It was quite pathetic. Well the reason I think I failed so badly, is because I didn't know how to set my paper up correctly. And procrastinating until the last night did not help at all. After I failed that paper, it was the last one. But it did not stop me from waiting until the last minute. No Sir it sure didn't. I learned how to set my paper up with the right format. Which made it easier to procrastinate.

I learned how to get A's on these papers I waited so long to do. It would stress me out really bad, but I think working under this type of pressure made me do so much better at writing them. LOL. Does that make sense? Because I still can't figure out how it worked out that way? But I figured if I could Ace my papers by waiting until the very end, why waste my time working on them for days at a time. I know that sounds so bad and makes me out to be an underachiever. But I guess that is just one of the characteristics of the type of personality I have.
I don't just procrastinate on papers. I procrastinate at every thing I do. The dishes, getting around in the morning, making supper, cleaning the house, just leaving the house in general. I just can't help it. Maybe I have a problem? Idunno? Am I just lazy? I mean it does get done eventually. Just not at the time it's probably suppose to. :)
Do any of you procrastinate? If so, what do you procrastinate with? I would love some feedback.

Down In The Dumps....

So lately I've been a little bit down in the dumps. I finished up my Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting back in December of last year. Almost 8 months later, and I haven't applied any of my schooling to a job whatsoever. I was "pushed" to become a Medical Assistant by the lovely Admissions people at the college I attended. Because they asked me a series of questions and since I do like to help people and I do have a caring side, they decided that would be just right for me. But... Now that I have went to school to become a Medical Assistant I do not feel that is what I want to be when I do "Grow Up". Too bad I didn't realize this before I applied for all those student loans which are now starting to come back to haunt me because one is suppose to start paying back 6 months after graduating. Yikes! So now I am just trying to find me any job I can possibly get. I need to get out of this house. I need to start earning a paycheck, and get back on my feet for my family's sake. But as you all know, Jobs are so hard to come by now a days. But I will not give up. I am a Survivor! It just gets so frustrating and stressful to keep turning in applications, have interviews, and still nothing. I know my day is coming.. And I hope it is soon!

Peanut Butter & Co. Is the Best Peanut Butter Ever!

My family and I first tried this brand of Peanut Butter a little over a year ago. It is now the Only Brand in our cupboards. Our favorite flavor is the White Chocolate Wonderful. It has a sweet scrumptious taste. Once you try this peanut butter you won't regret it. It has a very nice texture to it. We put it on everything, pretzels, apples, crackers, celery, and yup even bread believe it or not. But most importantly we eat it right off a spoon. That is by far the best way to eat it in my opinion.Once the jar is opened at my house it doesn't stay around for very long. Everyone here enjoys it so much. I can find this peanut butter at my local Kroger and Wal-Mart for around 5 dollars a jar. It is definitely worth the price! Each store carries different flavors. . Want to find out more? Visit Peanut Butter & Co. on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/PeanutButterCo or their website at http://www.ilovepeanutbutter.com and you can also follow them on twitter at http://www.twitter.com/PeanutButterCo

Review: Barbara's Snackimals™ Peanut Butter Cookies

Today my kids and I were in need of an afternoon snack after playing outside. We came in and had some Barbara's Snackimals Animal Cookies. We had the Peanut Butter Flavor. They were a hit. The taste was amazing. They have just the right amount of Peanut Butter taste, they weren't over powering, but they weren't under tasteful either. Very good. These cookies are made with Organic Grains, and have 0g Trans Fat. Perfect for my family. The cookies were very cute shaped animals. This snack came in a 7.5 oz. bag. After snack time it was completely empty. No surprise there, they were addicting. They also come in 5 other flavors:

  • Vanilla
  • Double Chocolate
  • Oatmeal
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Snickerdoodle
We will definitely be trying all the other flavors. I highly recommend this great tasting snack.

What is a Good Age for a Child to start helping out with the Dishes?

Well I just recently let my son, Devon start helping out with the dishes. He will be 10 years old in a little over 2 weeks. I feel this was a good age for him to start helping and building up some responsibilities. He was kind of excited about it.Today made his 3rd time doing them. I think his excitement has now worn off. This isn't going to be an every day chore for him. But he will be helping out a few times a week. Brianna, who just turned 7 really wants to start helping out too. I don't think she is quite old enough yet. (I mean I don't want my kitchen flooded)  I do on the other hand let her help vacuum the floors and dust occasionally.  They are both really good helpers (at times).

Kroger Shopping Trip. 7/22/11

This is what I got on my trip to Kroger. I saved 89%... I spent a total of $1.44 after using a gift card that had $5.14 on it and using coupons. I shop at the Kroger in Kendallville, IN and they triple coupons up to .50 so that greatly helps reduce the cost. I also used a few "free" coupons. I basically got all the food for free, and just paid for the trash bags. My "free" coupons were for the Kraft Cheese, Gorton's Fish, 4 of the Lipton Teas, and the Wholly Queso.

A rainy Day, But a Good Day.

This is my first  post ever. I wanted to write about our recent rainfall we received this afternoon. It has been so hot this past week, the temperatures  have been in the upper 90's with the heat index reaching into the 100's. And if you don't know me, I don't usually turn my Central Air on. But I did this week! Anyway back to the rain. It was desperately needed. My grass along with everyone's grass was looking like a brown crunchy color. Not healthy looking at all. So with this rain, it has brought the temperature down to a nice cool 70.8 degrees. I can live with this. Tomorrow and Sunday there is also a chance for rain. So I am hoping we will get more rain.
