Tropical Traditions: Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil Review and {Giveaway!} Ends 11/4 (CLOSED)

Are you into having the healthy option for oils? Well if you are, then you really need to try Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil. Oh, and this Oil is USDA Certified Organic!
I will be honest, before I received my Coconut Oil, I had never even heard of it. I had no clue it was a food or what to do with it. I didnt know there were so many good things to do with it. The research they have found is that Coconut Oil is said to be "the healthiest oil on Earth" Wow really? I'm all for that! I love to fry chicken and potatoes. And what better way to do that, than do it in a healthier way.

THE REVIEW:

I chose to make my kids and I some pancakes using the Coconut Oil. Little did we know we were in for such a great treat. When I first opened the jar of the Coconut Oil, I smelled it, it didnt have a strong smell, and it had a very nice smooth texture when scooping it out and putting a little bit in the pan. I let it melt into the pan then put the pancake mixture into the pan and let them begin cooking. Oh it smelled so good while they were cooking. Finally when the pancakes were all finished cooking and we were able to try them, they tasted great. There was just a hint of coconut taste. Nothing overbearing with coconut taste, and my house was left smelling very good. Nothing like it does when I use "other" types of cooking oils. Hey thats a good thing! You can find other coconut recipes here. I can not wait to try out some of the other recipes. They look very good and I will feel better making them the "healthier way.

HOW IS THIS OIL USED? (From their website)

Virgin Coconut Oil is a food, and is one of the best cooking oils you can use. It has been a staple cooking oil for thousands of years in tropical climates. As a cooking oil, its chemical structure is kept in tact and therefore is resistant to mutations of fatty acid chains even when used in higher cooking temperatures, unlike most vegetable oils. Research shows that the medium chain fatty acids found in coconut oil boosts the body’s metabolism, raises body temperatures, and helps provide greater energy which can lead to weight loss. (Losing weight sounds good to me!)

Coupon Swap!

Almost a month ago I came across a "group" on facebook for coupon swapping. It has been great. I am now on 3 of them, but like one more. That is the one I joined first. The last one I got into, I am not even sure how, but I ended up in it. lol.. I havent traded or "swapped" with anyone in that one. I should just leave that group. Anyway. I think this is a wonderful way to gain coupons you need. Because I know I am not alone... I have way too many that I know I will never use, so why not swap them for something you can use?

Thats what all these coupons in this picture are. I was trying to sort through and organize the coupons I knew I would never use. Say for instance.. Pet coupons, we don't own a pet, so I know  I would never use them, so on these coupon swapping groups Im involved with I can swap them for a coupon I know I can use.
I know my living room looks like a mess. I can clearly see that. lol. But this is also helping others so much. I love this idea because the only thing you pay is the postage. So much better than going to a clipping service where you get charged and I think that adds up. I have made a few good friends since Ive joined these groups. They are awesome traders, and since they all live in different areas you can always get different coupons which makes it great. As most of you already know, I LOVE coupons.

This group has made it possible to save even more money because I have more coupons to use now. I think there are more pros than cons too. The only negative is, you have to know who you are trading with. I mean ask others in the group if they have ever traded with so and so, find out who the good honest traders are and be careful because there are scammers, as there is anywhere really. Also if you are needing a coupon for a particular sale, make sure you realize the time frame in which it could take to get the coupon(s). So far I haven't been scammed by anyone and Ive received all my coupons before the expiration date, and the sale. Some were a close call, but they made it to me on time.Like I said way more pros, which include SAVING MORE MONEY... Having a BIGGER stockpile, Being able to DONATE more items to your local food banks, or family and friends you know that may need the extra help. I have seen some amazing pictures of people's shopping trips posted in these groups too. Just awesome! So if you are connected with Facebook and feel this would be something great, look up some swapping groups.

Teaching my Daughter Young.....

So when I said I was teaching my daughter young, here is what I meant. We recently were at CVS, and well she spotted the 75% off clearance Aisle. She found these Wack-O-Wax Wax Lips. She thought they were so funny. She bought them with her own money. Total cost .22 So I let her go ahead and purchase them since they were less than a quarter and she was "Bargain" shopping with Mom.

Since she knows I like to post deals, and pictures, she suggested I take her picture and talk about it. So I did. LOL The lips almost take up her whole face though. We were in a hurry when she saw these, so she grabbed them and we were off. So now I wish I would have looked to see what else was in that aisle. Maybe tomorrow I'll head over to CVS and check it out while the kids are in school. And bring my coupons with me of course. =)

Around here our favorite  Big G Cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

My Kids love it, and I love that they aren't eating something like junk food for breakfast. We eat this cereal with milk and it's also great without milk to eat as a snack.

The only downside about this cereal, you cant let it sit in the milk for too long, or it will get soggy, but we never seem to have that problem here. It gets eaten fast.

Now onto the GIVEAWAY! Wanna win something cool? Oh sure, I know you do!

General Mills  is offering one of my fantastic readers the same gift pack I received which is,

One box of each of the following cereals to form your own Star Wars panoramic poster:

•      Honey Nut Cheerios

•     Cinnamon Toast Crunch

•     Lucky Charms

• $25 Walmart gift card (To go purchase your very own  Star Wars: The Complete Saga)
