Recently I found a company called BBTJerky.com. I knew we had to try it out, because my son LOVES Beef Jerky. Okay, I do too. But not as much as he does. We were sent two bags of the Original Beef Jerky Slab Style.
This is the boy who loves Beef Jerky. And yes he had already opened the bag of it and tried it before I could take a picture. His exact words were it lasts longer than any other kind he has tried, because its chewy, and it keeps it's flavor. I thought it was chewy and tasteful as well. I also thought it wasn't dried out like some are.
The pieces or should I say slabs were nice and big too! BBTJerky.com really did a good job with their jerky!
From their website:
Jerky Direct An Amazing Jerky Producer
Making the best jerky in the world. J.D. has been very successful as a family and an organization in the manufacture and sale of natural jerky. One of the first ( If not the first) jerky producer in the world to manufacture a shelf stable high moister meat product. J.D. has one of the finest meat scientist in the world. Involved with J.D. for a very long time in developing jerky flavor profiles.
J.D. quality control is second to none. J.D. is a USDA facility that takes very good precautions on how the jerky is produced. And J.D. has in the last few years became certified organic jerky producer as well. Which is a step above the all natural jerky line.
How Do You Make Great Jerky:
1: Start with the best natural meats.
The animals J.D. uses to make the jerky with, are all naturally raised. J.D. controls this from birth to finished product. Very health conscience on how animals are raised and the processing of the meat. The animals are raised without added hormones and without antibiotics and there are no preservatives no added MSG no nitrite no erythorbate no artificial ingredients.
2. Marinate 12 to 24 hours.
Jerky Direct takes very good care of making sure the flavor is marinated through out the product, not just an outside flavoring. The raw product goes in, spices and flavorings are put in as well. Mixed up very well and then let it marinate for 12 to 24 hours.
3. Use Real Hickory Smoke
There are a lot of producers of jerky that will use a liquid smoke for a hickory smoked product. J.D. jerky is actually hickory wood that is burned and then the smoke is piped into the cookers. J.D. controls the wet temperature as well as the dry temperature making sure there are no cold spots or hot spots in the ovens. The operation is very, very state of the art.
