Habanero Peppers

So a couple days ago, I decided I was going to cut up some Habanero Peppers. Wow that was a HUGE mistake. I did it with my bare hands. LOL.. I guess I have never heard of anyone doing it differently, like using gloves.. Jeez. What was I thinking?

My Grandpa had given me some Habanero Peppers just like the ones in the picture above. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them, but he wanted to get them out of the garden because it was suppose to frost later that night. So... Since I didn't know what to use them in, I decided I would cut them up and freeze them. I started cutting them up and putting them in my freezer bag, nothing happened. Later I finished some dishes that needed to be done, and after I was done with the dishes, my hands started burning, and I mean bad.. They were warm to touch. I then proceeded to scratch my nose because it itched. Umm Owww.. And that was a mistake. My nose was burning then. Then, like a dummy, I am... I rubbed my eyes.. Again Owww...

I guess I really never realized how much I touch my face, that is until I have something hot on them and as soon as you touch something it burns that area as well. I even took a shower and used lots of soap hoping it would help. It didnt. I finally got my hands to stop burning like 3 days later, after multiple showers and doing dishes. But, I did however learn a very important lesson. I will NEVER EVER cut up Habanero Peppers again. Period. I love spicy food, But Im wondering if it does that to the outside of your body, what does it do to the inside of your body? Anyone know? LOL.

  1. I can't believe you asked what it does to the inside of your body! There's an old wives tale which may or may not be true....they say that eating Habenero peppers will bring on labor!!

I picture the baby saying "get me the heck out of here...NOW!"

I can only imagine how badly that hurt you.
